Sinan Bakir's musical journey started with mandolin lessons then continued at the Ankara State Opera Children's Choir. When he was a teenager, after attending to a rock concert, he got inspired by the guitar player and became intoxicated with guitar.
In the beginning, he took some private lessons both for classical and electric guitar. Later he began to unlock the secrets of the instrument by himself. During his years in college he taught guitar privately and performed with different projects in Ankara, Istanbul and Eskisehir. After finishing his studies in engineering, he won a scholarship for jazz studies and moved to Hartford, CT.
A virtuoso of the instrument, Sinan has had the privilege of playing with many great musicians. To name a few, he performed with Alex Nakhimovsky, Lloyd Chisholm, Mike Asetta and Craig Hartley. Sinan also jammed with Aydin Esen, Steve Davis, and Jaimoe from the Allman Brothers. Some venues include Szechuan Tokyo, Cafe 9, the CT State House and the Governors Mansion. Besides performing he is a guitar instructor and teaches extensively. He is a graduate of the Hartford Conservatory.
